Inferential questions

Inferential questions require you to draw conclusions or make inferences based on the information presented in the text, even if it is not explicitly stated. They test your ability to think critically and understand the underlying meaning of the text.

Examples of inferential questions:

  • “Why do you think the character decided to leave home?”
  • “What was the author’s purpose in writing this article?”
  • “What is the main theme of the story?”
  • “Based on the description, how would you describe the character’s personality?”

Inferential questions often involve making educated guesses or predictions based on the evidence provided in the text.
