Lesson No 23E-Responding to Invitations

Responding to Invitations

When you receive an invitation, it’s important to respond promptly and politely. Here are some phrases you can use to accept or decline an invitation:

Accepting an Invitation:

  • Thank you for inviting me.
  • I’d love to come.
  • I’m looking forward to it.
  • I’ll be there.
  • I’m excited to attend.

Declining an Invitation:

  • Thank you for the invitation, but I’m unable to attend.
  • I’m sorry, I have another commitment.
  • I’d love to come, but I’m busy that day.
  • Perhaps we can get together another time.
  • I apologize for any inconvenience.

If you need to provide a reason for declining, you can say:

  • I’m feeling under the weather.
  • Something unexpected came up.
  • I’m busy with work.
  • I’m not feeling up to it.

Remember to be polite and apologetic when declining an invitation.
