Using Adverbs in Sentences

Adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. They provide information about how, when, where, why, or to what extent something happens.

Here are some examples of how to use adverbs in sentences:

Modifying Verbs

  • Manner: He quickly finished his work.
  • Time: She often goes to the park.
  • Place: They carefully packed their bags.
  • Degree: I really like this movie.
  • Frequency: She never lies.

Modifying Adjectives

  • Degree: The movie was extremely funny.
  • Manner: She is a very kind person.

Modifying Other Adverbs
